Tulsa

The day before we left for Tulsa we found out Evelyn had come down with a virus, so she was quarantined from Jude's 2nd birthday party. She seemed to enjoy the cupcake they saved for her in spite of being sick...

Evelyn had a good time with Granny at the park!

Evelyn likes having a group swing at Granny and Grandpa's house!

Grunion Run

What is a grunion?

Here is a grunion.

During the summer months at high tides, grunion wiggle onto the beach and deposit their eggs onto the sand, and other grunion follow to fertilize them. Then they all wash back out to sea at the next wave. It is called a grunion run and takes place in southern California. The runs happen at night. We went Monday night and it was so much fun to look for the grunion with flashlight and watch their silver tails flash across the shore. We saw about 50 grunion and went home, but the numbers were picking up as we left. On big runs, they say you cannot even see the beach because of the thousands of grunion. We will definitely watch a run again! Since it was 11:00 at night, Evelyn stayed home with a sitter...

19 Months

19 Months old today!

Here Evelyn is all set to go swimming in her "float suit," given to her by Nana and Papa and purchased in Oklahoma...but with the words "Zuma Beach" on the front - which is down PCH from us...

Evelyn found a walking stick to hike to the park today for an S-Pad Memorial Day picnic.

Swimming in the kiddie pool with her friends!

Swinging like a big girl....

It is time to go home, and she is covered in dirt from head to toe. Henri might have helped with the dirt. We had a good day. We will be in Oklahoma Wednesday! We look forward to seeing everyone!

Evelyn's 18 Month Pictures

Evelyn's Nana and Aunt Becky took her to get pictures taken with her cousin Ty while she was in Oklahoma. They put sponge curlers in her hair - my little girl looks so grown up!

Hola from Buenos Aires

Hello! We are in Argentina! It is a beautiful place...we arrived after a 6 hour flight from LA to Dallas (3 hours on the tarmac), we gave Evelyn to her grandparents at the airport very quickly, and then a 10 hour flight to Buenos Aires. We were fever scanned before entering the airport - everyone is very concerned here about the Swine flu.

Thus far, we have walked miles and miles of the city, which is fun. We have eaten steak each night (that we did not pay for...) We took a bus tour of the city that included visits to Evita's grave, a leather factory (Argentine leather is famous?), La Boca region, a Mate shop (tea like drink that is gross)...Today I received a free facial from the hotel. Brian and I walked to the botanical gardens, Parque Polermo (the central park of the city - it is huge and beautiful) - which included Rosedal - a beautiful rose garden. Tonight we went to a Tango dinner and show (more steak). This was followed by a group tango lesson, which was very fun!

Tomorrow we go to a ranch, where I am sure there will be more steak. We are looking forward to visiting the art museum, local fairs here, and using our certificate for another free tango lesson!
