We are thankful to have Grandpa with us this week! We have stayed busy - the park, swimming, and yesterday Zuma beach. It was very windy and cold at the beach (although hot at our condo). We enjoyed it anyways.
A windy beach day is a great day for flying a kite! Evelyn can fly it by herself!
A family from church decided to pass on a trundle bed to Evelyn, and we were glad to accept! Their daughter is starting high school now. Brian picked it up today, and Brian set it up in time for her bedtime tonight. She is so proud, and it is a perfect bed for a little girl. I found pink sheets for her, and I put a quilt on it that I made several years ago. The trundle bed will be fun when her sister is older or when friends and cousins come to visit.
A cute one of Marianne...she has now had avocado and pears without complaint.
Marianne was 6 months old on Thursday! Here are a few portrait attempts at Baxter park in our neighborhood. Her formal photos will be taken next Saturday, and her doctor's appointment will be next week. She is still a happy happy girl. Still no teeth...She likes to sit and this has curtailed her rolling for now. When she is on her tummy she will spin and spin. She wants to crawl but has not figured it out yet...She has tried cereal but does not each much yet. Evelyn is still her favorite person...and she has developed an interest in watching Emma cat. Marianne - you are a sweet girl - it is a pleasure to watch you grow!
Here is a pose of Evelyn in the same outfit at 6 months...
Evelyn has been an advocate for Marianne wearing sunglasses lately - I thought these were too cute!
A trip to Underwood farms to pick produce and visit the petting zoo was fun!
We took a ferry to Catalina Island (about an hour long ride) - it was a fun trip!
Brian and I took an early morning kayak trip while in Catalina - we saw seals, several kinds of fish, rays, and leopard sharks. It was a beautiful, peaceful trip.
Kite flying with Nana and Papa at Alumni Park on campus.
Evelyn and Papa took a hike together. This is quickly becoming a tradition - Evelyn enjoys exploring with Papa.
Evelyn's First Day of Preschool "Camp." She'll start preschool officially in September. She loved her few days of camp and is very excited for school to begin.
Marianne started sitting by herself at abou5 5.5 months. Of course, her big sister helped her learn!
All by myself! Sitting pretty on our short visit with Nana and Papa to Catalina Island last week.
Marianne went to her first cradle roll Bible class at Church this Sunday. She loved it! And, her first cereal. We started with oatmeal. She seemed to like it!
This is the first time Evelyn fed Marianne "by herself" while I worked at the hospital one Saturday morning.
More pictures to come of our visit with Nana and Papa!
