The Simple Things

Evelyn is good at taking time to smell the flowers...

She proudly told me that she had a "hay bo" in her hair this morning, and then she ripped it out. And then I put it back in...and then she took it out...and

Whale Watching

We went whale watching last night at Point Dume, about 10 minutes down Pacific Coast Highway from Pepperdine. We went near sunset, and it was absolutely beautiful. We saw 2 whales - basically we saw the blow hole spouting and the tail going in/out of the water. Other people said they saw dolphins too.

Evelyn loved playing in the sand...

Ba ba ba bum bum do dum de dum

I'm curious - to what tune did you sing the title? Maybe it says something about you?

Anyway, here is another installment of our video series. These videos mostly come from after we moved to California, so that makes Evelyn between 9 and 13 months. It really wasn't intended, but this video has an "accomplishment" theme, with Evelyn showing off the many things she learned during this time.

We just got through a spell of cold (for Southern California) rainy weather, so it was nice to have some sun during my walk up the hill these last few days.

We had a busy week this week, but I think we're all stronger for it. I'm a little dissappointed that Anoop didn't get in the top three (for those American Idol fans out there...). I think he would fit right in with a bunch of mathematicians - and that's a rarity for American Idol.

Well, here's the video already...

Snuggle Puppy

For those of you familiar with Sandra Boynton (ie. those of you with small children), she wrote a book titled "Snuggle Puppy" that Kim and I both really enjoy, but Evelyn has yet to fully embrace. Isn't it funny how your child will always fall in love with the one book that you find obnoxious and insist in reading it over and over and over and... Actually, Evelyn's pretty good about picking good books.

Anyway, Sandra Boynton put out a kids album, and "snuggle puppy' was one of the tracks. This happens to be the background for our next video. We tried to capture her "being cute" in this video (it was pretty tricky...) It mostly takes place between ages 6 to 9 months.

Enjoy!

Las Vegas

We just got back from a PT conference in Las Vegas, a 4.5 hour drive. It actually rained as we drove through the desert. Although the architecture of the famous strip was interesting, the rest of Las Vegas we could do without. Brian and Evelyn did some sight seeing and went to the aquarium while I was in meetings.

We are glad to be home!

Evelyn might look like her dad a little bit in this casual pose...

Yet another video

Things have been busy yet uneventful for us lately - I suspect you know what that feels like. We did, however, find some friends to watch American Idol with last night (it's our secret addiction). Evelyn even tolerated being out past her bedtime quite well.

This is our third video, and I think it was our favorite to make. It's to a fun song from They Might Be Giants, Here Come the 123s - it's their children's album all about numbers. We tried to put a lot of playing and a lot of motion and action in this video. Most of the clips come from when Evelyn was between 6 months to one year old. I hope you enjoy it.
