Marianne is 15 Months

Marianne turned 15 months on May 5! I am a little late posting her stats as we just saw the doctor for her check up. She weighs 19lbs 12oz, and is 29" long. She walks well and likes to climb, climb, and climb. She will dance to music in her own unique way. She becomes very animated when she sees animals or even pictures of animals that Evelyn makes at preschool. She especially likes ducks, elephants and monkeys. She still loves to brush her teeth. Any time we are near the bathroom, she still calls out "teeth teeth" and climbs the stool. She says "I poo poo" when her diaper is dirty. She likes to stack blocks and build towers, and will say "crash" when she knocks them down. She also enjoys putting things in and out - when she is in the mood this activity can last for a loooonnng time.

She is saying so many words and filling in the blanks for us with some of her favorite books. Evelyn teaches her words - Marianne likes to try to repeat what Evelyn teaches her. It is really sweet. Sometimes she will talk and talk and talk - and then Evelyn will look at me and giggle because for the most part, we have no idea what she is saying. She announces "pray" and folds her hands with a smile when we sit down to eat together. She has started saying "happy and sad" and making a scrunched up face in imitation of ours. Her demonstration of both emotions looks the same, but it is cute. She likes cradle roll. Her favorite stuffed animal is the pink "teddy," and she chews on him every night. She still only has 4 teeth, there are more hiding in her gumline but no more have come through.

She loved putting the hat on/off that Nana and Papa sent.

Here, Marianne is laughing at my happy and sad faces.

Evelyn modeling one of the fun hats Nana and Papa sent. They were a big hit with both sisters!

When Evelyn completed a chore card, and she requested to have Sugarfoot the bunny (from her preschool) come for a "sleepover" (as she calls it) for the weekend as her celebration. Sugarfoot stays with different children from school every weekend, and last weekend was our turn. He stayed in the pen and cage we set up for him, and was pretty neat and tidy. Evelyn really enjoyed having him, but it was also nice to take him back on Monday (yeah!).

Mothers Day and More

We had a happy Mother's Day! Brian and the girls had flowers for me, Evelyn and Marianne painted pictures for me, and they made me dinner!
Here are some pictures from the day...

Beautiful Evelyn on a very windy day...

Mothers Day afternoon I requested to go to Alumni park to feed the ducks. Marianne really likes to do this...

"Duck!!!!"

And, we had the fun of seeing 5 baby ducks! We were able to get quite close, since we had bread.

Evelyn and her daddy...

Marianne really likes babies. She was so pleased when we showed her how to feed Sissy Marianne.

Evelyn is writing so well! She wrote this message for me when I came home from my trip to Philadelphia.

This was the beginning of the word writing craze - Floss (the name of a dog from one of her books) was the first word besides her name that she asked to learn to write.

Evelyn enjoyed trying on Brian's gown that he wore to graduation. Evelyn PhD!

Easter

We had a happy Easter...Here are some pictures from the day. We also had a good Mother's Day today, but I feel compelled to post pictures in chronological order - so those will come another day...

Evelyn and Marianne received some money from their Great Granny Stonestreet - which we put towards this easel. Evelyn loves it - she has learned to write a new word every day and likes to practice writing. When I came home from a trip this week she had written a special message fore me...We keep it on the landing of the stairs so that she can write without Marianne crawling underneath it - Marianne will enjoy it when she is a little older. Thank you Great Granny!

A family photo on Easter Sunday. It is very hard to get a family photo!

Our beautiful Evelyn...

Wearing the new hair bow from Granny, the peg doll necklace I made her for Easter, and the pink dress she received for Christmas. Marianne's dress that matches is still a little big...

Before the egg hunt on our pad before church. Some of the neighbors hid eggs early Sunday morning before services for all of the little ones...it was so fun!
