Evelyn loves her sister, and works hard to take care of her. I overheard this last week:

"Daddy, Marianne's nose holes are too small. I can't fit my fingers in there." Hmm.

Evelyn is great at finding ways to make Marianne laugh - even when it might appear to her parents that she is being pretty rough - it is hard to rebuke her when Marianne is laughing in the cutest way imaginable...

Granny sent them these cute matching dresses - we wore them to church this Sunday. I posted all three pictures of virtually the same pose for Granny's sake. Evelyn was bribed with a bite of a lollipop for these smiles. Marianne did not need a bribe!




We had a good weekend - Marianne sat in the Jumperoo for the first time - she is a big fan. We spent time at the park, the hot tub and splurged for a hamburger lunch out at Ruby's on Malibu Pier on Saturday. Ruby's makes huge shakes - and we all split one. Evelyn had no trouble keeping up with Mom and Dad to get her share - she swiped Dad's spoon clean a few times before he could eat it!

I am not sure if smiles get any cuter than that...


Evelyn met this gator at the LA Zoo, where we went this morning. Evelyn had a good time, and Marianne slept for most of the trip. Evelyn talks a lot about crocodiles. For one, they say snap snap. They often chase our car, although these are usually friendly crocodiles. Crocodiles do many of the behaviors she is not allowed to do - spit, pick noses, or throw rocks. Crocodiles do these things, but princesses do not. I am not sure how they became interesting...but they are. She enjoys reading about them, notably in the book about Boubacar the elephant and in Lyle Lyle Crocodile.

Milestone Days

Marianne Elizabeth is 3 months old! She is a smiley, sweet tempered baby. She sleeps all night and loves to look at and listen to her sister. She likes to be read to - "Mr. Brown Can Moo" and "Peek a Baby" are some favorites. And she loves to look at and listen to her sister. She has a special smile and laugh reserved for Evelyn - we can't compete!



Evelyn Ann is 30 months old! She is a sweet sister who loves Marianne so much. She loves to read, jump, sing and do as much as possible "by herself." She is potty trained day and night and is quite proud of doing this all by herself. We love you Evelyn!

Evelyn, Marianne and I went to Oklahoma for a visit with the family. We had a great time, but are glad to be home. You may ask what it was like to travel on my own with two - for the most part - good - but there were moments...


I'll post more of the trip later. In the meantime, here are my two girls staying cool...
