Miscellaneous

Our first tomato! We grew Roma tomatoes on our balcony - and they are good!

Evelyn normally does great going down this super slide by herself (it is at our neighborhood park). After this particular time - we learned that she should not go down in her swim suit - she picked up some speed and I was glad I was there at the bottom to catch her!

She likes to read to her kittens with her blanket.

Today - it was "I'm a Little TeaPot," but she found it hard to do the motions and hold the book so the kittens can see the pictures at the same time...

We're Glad You Came Nana and Papa!

We had a great time with Nana and Papa Fisher this week during their visit. Evelyn is enjoying her early birthday present - a train table - that is already a hit with the neighborhood. We had several little boys over in our garage to help her test it out soon after Brian and Papa put it together. Thank you Nana and Papa!

We took Nana and Papa to Point Dume - we saw a sea lion, several dolphins, and a beautiful sunset.

Evelyn had a great time making sand castles with Papa.

The girls and a view from Point Dume looking back towards Malibu.

A family portrait.

We spent one day at the Long Beach Aquarium - about an hour south of us. Evelyn loved it!

Cooking with Friends

We had a student and friend over tonight for dinner...Evelyn loves Kate!

Evelyn and Kate making cookies with the Pacific ocean in the background...

Evelyn took stirring very seriously, and thought it was a great chance to try to swipe chocolate chips from the dough. I wonder where she might have learned that?

I love elephants

Evelyn has always had a bit of a thing for elephants - ever since she saw one up close at the Santa Barbara Zoo last Thanksgiving. I took this picture of her yesterday. Yes, she is reading the Bible to her elephant. In the New King James' Version, nonetheless.

For more elephant fun, you can check out Evelyn's favorite music video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yihq8BIhL9c
Caution: If your toddler is anything like ours, they might request this song over and over and over... So, you might want to take that into account before you watch it with them.

One last word: I asked Evelyn what we should tell people on our blog. Her response, without hessitation: "Swiper, No Swiping."
