VBS and the 4th of July

The girls attended VBS at Conejo Church of Christ through the canyon at the end of June...they loved it!  They learned a lot and are still singing the memory verse songs!  We attended an evening program the last day where both girls performed their songs...

We had a small parade on the s-pad the morning of the 4th.  When the rest of the country had 100 degree weather, we had mid 60s with a little drizzle that morning.  Evelyn led the three girls in a ballet style march...

that Marianne faithfully continued even though she lagged behind the rest....

We then invited the kids inside to celebrate Emma cat's 11th birthday.  In her prayers, Evelyn has been praying that Emma will have a good birthday, so we decided to celebrate it.  Brian found some cute games online and had the kids hunting for mice etc in our living room...Evelyn decided it was a good birthday, thankfully.

We finished the 4th of July by a neighborhood picnic at the park and watching fireworks over the ocean from our view at the park.   The Malibu Colony neighborhood puts on a pretty good show!  Marianne was concerned that they would be scary since it was dark outside, but she quickly decided they were fun!  She called them sheep that say "boom boom" for some reason.  We did not figure that one out...
