For Father's Day, we used our passes and took Brian back to Sea World in late June. It was a truly golden day!
Evelyn and I both pet a dolphin! She really wanted to do it, but was a little afraid. She watched me do it, and then managed to pet the tail and then the nose of another. She was thrilled and proud!
Brian and I could not help but reflect on the difference in our childhoods - we pet cows and horses as children - our girls pet dolphins and see them at the beach on a regular basis....Marianne enjoyed seeing them up close and the dolphin show (which was fantastic!), but she was not ready to pet one yet. Both girls enjoyed seeing shamu again too.
Evelyn had coveted this turtle at Sea World on our last trip, and she decided to use her piggy bank money and to do some extra chores around the house. So - to any grandparent or great grandparent who has ever given Evelyn money, she has kept it tucked away for awhile, and she spent it with great pleasure to buy her turtle! Thank you! She was very proud.
Marianne enjoyed it too!
We also visited the tide pool area, where the girls were allowed to pick up the star fish under the water. Evelyn loved it!
Marianne pet them too - but it was harder to capture on camera!
